God’s Way of Deliverance – (Audio Sermon)

Preached in 1979
By Bishop Michael Reid

(Photo Credit: Wiki) Moses_Pleading_with_Israel_“And Aaron spake all the words which the LORD had spoken unto Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people. And the people believed: and when they heard that the LORD had visited the children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped.” Exodus 4:30

When God reveals His promises to our hearts we find ourselves rejoicing in His glorious truth. It is truly a time of thanksgiving and worship to know God is in control and working out His plans.

However; just like the Hebrew Children we often despair when calamity strikes. When the promises of God aren’t being fulfilled ‘in our timing’ – that old evil heart of unbelief rises up doubting everything.

After the promises were spoken from God to the Hebrews, Pharaoh greatly increased the workload of the people, so much so that the Hebrew Children said unto Moses; “…The LORD look upon you, and judge; because ye have made our savour to be abhorred in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to slay us..” Exodus 5:21

How is it that God sent Moses to tell the Hebrews of the great deliverance, when no sooner later the people where in greater bondage? Even Moses himself went to The Lord and said “…Lord, wherefore hast thou so evil entreated this people? why is it that thou hast sent me?” Exodus 5:22

The reality is that EVERY promise of God is sure, EVERY word spoken by God shall be fulfilled! But the lesson that the Hebrews needed to learn is this; It shall be God’s way of deliverance not man’s way of deliverance. God had promised He shall deliver His people and it shall be so – but how that deliverance was operated shall be performed by God alone in His perfect timing.

Paul writes: “Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.” 1 Corinthians 10:11

In 1979 Bishop Michael Reid taught how this valuable and relevant example in history can benefit every Christian in todays church, moreover, it reveals how God works out His purposes.

About bishopmichaelreid

Michael Reid believes by building on the foundation of our biblically based family ethos, and maintaining a focus of miracles, healing and faith, the church can expand under God-anointed leadership – regardless of ‘qualification’. There are countless examples throughout history of God using men as leaders, oftentimes, when according to human logic, they might seem unqualified for the job. Such was the case with Bishop Michael Reid, an atheist policeman, whose life was transformed by the grace of God in a meeting led by late Demos Shakarian [founder of Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship International]. At the meeting under divine instruction God told Demos “Go get that man, I have a work for him to do” and Bishop Reid’s life in Christ began. As he started in the work God had given him, Bishop Reid quickly discovered God had given him the gifts of healing, discernment, knowledge and deliverance. He has been operating in these gifts – praying for the sick and preaching the gospel ever since with miracles and healing following.
