Psalm 37 1-6 (KJV) “Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.”
David exhorts his readers in this psalm not to fret that evildoers seem to prosper. He points out that they only prosper against the believer for a short while. Very soon there will be a change and they will be gone without trace.
(v2) “For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.” The believer has only to trust and delight in the Lord. Our heavenly Father loves us, cares for us and sent Jesus to die for us.
Jesus was victorious at the cross – He overcame all the power of the enemy. Nothing can separate us from the love of God. Soon every circumstance that seems to be against us will fade and wither. Our God is in control of every aspect of our lives. He is our shelter and our fortress against anything that may seem to go wrong in our life. Hallelujah!
